Lis builds collaborative therapeutic relationships grounded in respect and empathy. With compassion, warmth and a non-judgemental approach she works with clients to draw on their strengths and build their skills to bring about change and deepen insight. Lis has a depth of experience, knowledge and skill with a working life of more than 25 years as a counselling psychologist.

 

Lis enjoys working with adults of all ages across a range of life challenges including grief and loss, stress, anxiety, depression, relationships, trauma, identity, study and career concerns, health, and life transitions including peri and post-natal, early parenting and menopause. She has extensive experience and special interest working with university students and young adults. She also enjoys providing professional supervision to psychologists and mental health professionals.

 

Counselling and therapeutic approaches that inform Lis’s work include Compassion Focused Therapy, psychodynamic and narrative therapies, mindfulness as well as Acceptance and Commitment Training (ACT) and Cognitive Behaviour Training (CBT.) She listens deeply & carefully.

 

After work Lis enjoys time with loved ones, cooking something delicious, a good book, getting into nature and treading lightly on the earth.

Psychology Board of Australia approved Supervisor
