Kirk is a Clinical Psychologist and co-founder of Inner Northern Psychology. He enjoys his work as a therapist and supervisor of psychologists and other health professionals.

As a therapist, he is very experienced in helping clients with difficulties including anxiety, depression, maladaptive perfectionism, burnout, grief, divorce, career transitions and other life changes.

He provides an open and accepting environment and tailors a psychological therapy to clients’ needs. Kirk has training in several different approaches including, Compassion Focused Therapy, Schema Therapy, Chair work, ACT, CBT and Interpersonal Therapy. Finding a way to bring some joy and play in life is an important aspect of his therapeutic approach.

As a supervisor, he also has several years’ experience providing supervision and consultation to psychologists and other mental health professionals.

He has experience in a wide variety of settings. This includes working in public mental health and the University of Melbourne. His Doctoral thesis focused on the application of acceptance-based approaches to people experiencing medication resistant psychosis.

Kirk has been involved in research into mental heath difficulties. He has authored papers in peer reviewed journals on auditory hallucinations and on family peer support programs.

Kirk is a member of the Australian Psychological Society and is registered with AHPRA with an endorsement in Clinical Psychology.

Supervision for Psychologists, Registrars and Mental Health Professionals

Kirk is a Psychology Board of Australia approved supervisor with endorsement in Clinical Psychology. He enjoys providing supervision and peer consultation to fellow psychologists, registrars and mental health professionals.

Kirk has experience providing supervision to experienced psychologists, other health professionals, and those earlier in their career. He has assisted psychologists to achieve endorsement in Clinical Psychology.
