Jessica Stephens

 Jessica is a clinical psychologist with 13 years’ experience working with adults and adolescents. She treats mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, and eating disorders. She also assists people experiencing difficulties with adjustment to life changes, body image, self-esteem, perfectionism, assertiveness, relationships, stress, study and sleep.  

Jessica brings warmth, expertise, and curiosity to her work. She ensures that clients feel understood, and that each session is rewarding and productive.

Jessica has enjoyed working as a psychologist in various settings, including private and not for profit, research, and in a University counselling service. She has extensive experience as both a researcher and clinician in young people’s mental health, and is a proponent of evidence based practice and youth-friendly approaches.

In her therapy Jessica uses an integrative approach, using a framework of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), and drawing on additional approaches as needed, including Compassion Focused Therapy, Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, mindfulness, and other evidence-based practices.
